Simpson signed with Columbia Records at the age of 17 having been a part of the church choir as a young girl. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, was sold two million copies across America. Simpson also appeared on the reality-TV show The Price of Beauty in 2010 and was judged on fashion trends during two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
